About the project

This project was conceived with the goal to capture the Leaders’ vision of Europe 75 years after the founding of the Council of Europe. The aim was to create a multifaceted book that captures the voices and thoughts of Europe’s leaders regarding our common future.

As European leaders, we frequently share our visions in bilateral and multilateral discussions. However, until now, we have never put our shared thoughts into writing to address the people of Europe. On this Website and in the “Book of Europe” you can find out what the Foreign Minister of Iceland thinks about the future of Europe? And on the next page, you can read the perspectives of the Prime Ministers of Portugal, Spain as well as the President of Switzerland. What are the thoughts of the UK, Finland and Germany, and why do they differ?

We hope you enjoy reading the contributions in the “Book of Europe”, and we look forward to building the future of Europe together.

Daniel Risch                                        Dominique Hasler
Prime Minister of Liechtenstein         Minister of Foreign Affairs of Liechtenstein
